How a historic home is reborn

Alatri, one of the oldest and noblest art centers in Lazio, queen of megalithic cities. Land of origin of the cyclops, mysteries and legends that chase each other, wonderful coexistence of archaic and modern age. Alatri smells eternal, exudes from the stone, relives in the present covered with new light.

In the heart of this residence there is an Officine Fanesi creation. We have put our vision at the service of the designer's talent and creativity, to give shape to an idea of cooking in harmony with the mood of the project. We started from the lines of the Malatesta model to customize every single detail. The final result is unique: here the strength of the ferrous materials and the historicity of the context meet, in the contrast between steel and stone the modernity of the aged sheet metal gives new light to the original materials.

The kitchen has a repeated sequence of 60 cm wide elements, used for the sink, for the base of the hob and for the totally hidden dishwasher. The sequence is equipped with a pull-out element with internal drawers, practical and functional for storing all kitchen utensils.

For this reason I imagined a kitchen perfectly integrated with the mood, at the limits of invisibility. A minimal solution that hides all the features to give voice to the precision of the lines, pure and thin.

I chose Officine Fanesi because we share the same design approach and the same proactive strength. We believe in the total customization of the project, with a very strong attention to the choice of living materials.

Together with Officine Fanesi I designed an extremely linear solution, which enhances the stone of the building and the wood of the ceiling, through a correct play of lighting. Iron and stone, essential and characterizing souls, together to enhance the contrast between history and modernity.
